Embroidery – Frequently Asked Questions
What file types do you accept for embroidery?
We accept PNG, JPG, PDF, AI, and SVG files. Vector files are preferred, but high-resolution raster files work as well. Our team will convert your artwork into an embroidery-ready format.
Do you send a proof before production?
Yes. We provide a digital embroidery proof showing placement, size, and stitch direction. Production begins only after approval.
Is there a minimum order quantity?
Minimums vary by product type. Hats and apparel typically have low minimums, while specialty items may require higher quantities. Details are listed on each product page.
How long does embroidery take?
Standard production time is 5–10 business days after proof approval. Larger orders or complex designs may take longer.
Where can embroidery be placed?
Common placements include front, left chest, sleeves, back, and hats. Placement options vary by product and are shown on each product page.
What is digitizing?
Digitizing is the process of converting your artwork into a stitch file that embroidery machines can read. This determines stitch type, direction, and density.
Is there a digitizing fee?
Some designs may require a one-time digitizing fee, depending on complexity. Once digitized, your design can be reused for future orders.
How detailed can an embroidered design be?
Embroidery works best with bold lines and simple details. Very small text or fine details may need to be adjusted to ensure clean stitching.
What is the maximum embroidery size?
Maximum size depends on the product and placement. Hats and left chest designs are smaller, while jacket backs and sweatshirts allow for larger designs.
How many thread colors can be used?
Most designs can include up to 12 thread colors. Additional colors may be available upon request.
Do you offer color matching?
We do our best to closely match thread colors, but exact color matching is not guaranteed due to thread limitations and fabric differences.
Can embroidery be done on any fabric?
Embroidery works best on cotton, polyester, blends, fleece, and canvas. Some lightweight or stretchy fabrics may not be suitable.
Will embroidery damage the garment?
No. Our embroidery process is designed to be durable while maintaining the integrity of the garment when properly cared for.
Is embroidery washable?
Yes. Embroidered items are machine washable. For best results, wash inside out with cold water and tumble dry low or air dry.
Can I reorder the same design later?
Yes! We keep your digitized file on record, making reorders fast and easy.
Do you offer embroidered samples?
We do not offer single-item embroidered samples, but small batch orders are available for testing designs.
Can I mix sizes and garment colors in one order?
Yes. You can mix sizes and colors as long as the embroidery design and placement remain the same.
Are there setup fees for repeat orders?
No additional setup fees are required for repeat orders using the same digitized design.
Can embroidery be removed or altered?
Embroidery is permanent and cannot be removed without damaging the garment. Please review proofs carefully before approving.
